Prairie dogs are very cute little critters. I guess they are popular pets in Japan.

It is very sad how they are collected, I have read that they don't really breed them in captivity as pets and there banned as pets in the US in 2003. Anyway, their burrows get flooded and they are captured as they escape. My opinion is that even though they are very cute they are not animals that humans should have as pets.
